Well established, south west based band Soul Solution have recently partnered with Revolution Audio for a selection of their summer concerts. Taking place in Taunton, Devizes and North Curry for large school balls and local concerts, we provided full audio production for all three dates. Our Soundcraft Si Compact 32 Console (also equipped with a CAT5 MADI Connection to a Soundcraft Compact Stagebox) alongside our HK Audio Projector system formed the heart of the setup. Our HK Boxes continue to impress in both output and sheer audio quality in venues of all sizes, from small marquees in North Curry to the substantial hall at Dauntsey’s School near Devizes, providing a full, tight sound with clear intelligibility and plenty of headroom and punch. The Si Compact easily handled the 20 input patch, with full processing used on all inputs, and BSS Graphic EQs used on all Monitor and FOH Buses. On stage, a selection of Shure, Sennheiser, Audix and Audiotechnica microphones captured the complex range of sounds that make up Soul Solution, ranging from guitars, drums and bass, to trombones, saxophones and trumpets. Bus compression was also used for the vocal and brass sections to add further control and smoothness to the Front of House mix. Eight individual monitor mixes were provided to 9 separate cabinets (the brass section utilising a pair) with the setup comprising of QSC K10, RCF Art 310A and DB Technologies M10 Boxes. All three events were a tremendous success and we look forward to working more with Soul Solution in the future. Revolution Audio offers full Audio Production for events of all types. We also provide Equipment Hire, Live Recordings and System Consultation. To find out more, just get in touch with us to discuss your needs with us.

Yeovil secondary school Buckler's mead Academy has once again placed production for its annual Sports Awards evening in the hands of Revolution Audio. As the exclusive Production Partner of The GateWay - the host venue for the event - we coordinated and providing engineering for the audio, video and lighting systems used at the event.
Making use of the installed system of Nexo PS15s with LS1200 sub-bass units, and the Behringer X32 Digital Console, we utilised Sennheiser G2 Wireless and AKG C747 Microphones on stage. Feedback elimination and system tuning was conducted with wireless tablet control within the auditorium. We also provided control of the lighting systems, as well as presentation and video playback using specialist presentation software, and the installed Christie LHD700 full HD projector. Revolution Audio's flexibility and ability to effectively manage productions large and small is a key part of our reputation when providing events at The GateWay, as well as elsewhere. We know that many customers - especially those making use of our Equipment Hire services - are keen to pay by card to avoid the need to carry cash, or remember to make bank transfers to us. Debit card transactions will be free of charge, while credit card purchases will incur a 2.75% surcharge. Revolution Audio is excited to announce a new tour partnership with fast-rising jazz, swing and musical theatre vocalist Erin Darling-Finan. We will be working with Erin around the South West to provide high quality sound for weddings, private functions and charity events. As a solo vocalist, clarity and vocal quality is imperative, and our recently acquired Allen and Heath Qu-16 Digital Mixer will form the basis for the tour, alongside QSC K10 and DB Technologies M10 loudspeakers, and Shure and Sennheiser Microphones. The dSnake CAT5 connection from the Qu-16 console to the AR2412 stage rack will ensure suitability for the smaller venues Erin regularly visits, and both parties are excited by the opportunities presented by the system’s Qu-Drive integrated multi-track recorder. We are also fully equipped for Erin’s outdoor performances, especially following our recent addition of 63A and 32A Power Distribution to our Hire and Production Inventories. Our recent investment in further equipment is testament to our track record in providing high-quality solutions for events of all types and sizes, from the largest bands to the most intimate acoustic shows. The Qu-16 is already proving a popular component in our inventory and continues to offer us more flexibility for smaller events. Now in it’s second year, the national Women of God Conference has experienced significant growth with a near doubling in attendance, and once again Revolution Audio were on hand to provide a full audio production service. Once again held at The GateWay in Yeovil, we built on our strong partnerships with both the venue and the conference team, combining the best of the installed system with Revolution Audio equipment to deliver live sound for all the conference speakers, as well as touring worship band Sound of Wales. We utilised the existing installation of a Nexo PS15 and LS1200 Loudspeaker System, and Behringer X32 digital console to allow usage of the P16 Personal Monitor Systems. Due to the seating layout, RCF Art 310 Cabinets were deployed as frontfills, with appropriate alignment and EQ applied to the whole system. Our ever-popular DB Technologies M10-2 Monitors were also used on stage, as well as a substantial selection of Shure, Sennheiser and Audix Microphones. We also provided full live recordings of the worship sets, a sample of which can be found below. Cath Woolridge from Sound of Wales praised the “brilliant” quality of the recording and mixing. The conference continues to expand at an impressive pace, and here at Revolution Audio we continue to work closely with the team to plan solutions for future events. Speaking about this year’s conference, organiser Lisa Webb said “Thankyou once again for doing an absolutely fantastic job. We are so very thankful to you for everything you’ve done to help make this conference a success.” To find out more about how our audio services can make your next event a success, click here. Revolution Audio recently returned to Sexey’s School of Bruton, Somerset to provide full audio production for its annual school musical. Following the tremendous success of last year’s “Like Dreamers Do”, this year “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” delighted audiences young and old over three nights, with yet further enhanced technical production. Working around a demanding rehearsal schedule, Revolution Audio spent over a week on site to support the production. Once again we provided a full system of HK Audio Projector, and a Soundcraft Si Compact 32 Digital Console with remote CAT5 stagebox once again formed the heart of the system. Spoken word and vocal clarity was key for this show, and we utilised a substantial system of Sennheiser EW300 G3 Radio Systems. Formed of nine beltpack and three handheld systems, lead characters were captured with industry-leading DPA D:Fine Headsets, while for scenes where handhelds were more desirable, a mixture of 835 and 865 capsules were deployed. Frequency coordination and remote monitoring for the entire system was achieved via CAT5 link to a Mac System at Front of House, running Sennheiser’s Wireless Systems Manager software. Group vocals and more minor characters were clearly picked up by four hanging AKG microphones, using CK31 and CK33 capsules based on the coverage area required. Each was run through individual BSS Graphic EQs on the FOH Console for easy elimination of feedback-prone frequencies. Band sources were captured through a large collection of BSS DI Boxes and Audix microphones, while monitoring in both the band area and on stage was provided by QSC and DB Technologies loudspeaker systems. Overall, the show utilised 29 inputs, 12 mix buses, 22 compressors, 14 graphic EQs and 86 cue snapshots, making it one of Revolution Audio’s more complex and demanding productions of 2014 so far. And once again, the show proved to be a great success with smooth production and high quality audio, and we continue to demonstrate our experience and ability to deliver bespoke, high quality solutions to our customers for events of all sizes and types. Hot on the heels of a recent premises move, we have now invested in an Allen and Heath Qu-16 compact digital mixer, as well as AR2412 CAT5 Stagebox our production and hire inventories. There has been consideration for a good while towards supplementing our larger Soundcraft Si Compact 32 with a smaller system, ideally suited for smaller venues, weddings and corporate events. After examining the market fully, the additional features available with the Allen and Heath product - such as the “Qu-Drive” integrated multi-track recording feature - made the Qu-16 a natural choice. As part of our Event Services, we are now able to offer a smaller, more compact footprint system, as well as 16 Channel Live Recordings with no extra hardware, in a much smaller space than before. We can also provide mixdown and post-production by request. We have also increased our stock of Tour Grade CAT5 Cables, which along with our investment in an AR2412 Stage Box will continue our established system of using Digital Snakes to aid both setup speed, and ease of cable routing. Both components of the system are also available for Dry Hire, and we offer all the usual services from our Hire Department, as well as the most competitive Qu-16 prices in the area. Do get in touch with us to find out how these new components, and our existing stock and services, can be a part of your next event.
