Lighting The Lighting Department has seen significant investment, with the arrival of a large stock of Showtec Sunstrips and Phantom 130 Moving Fixtures. We have also increased our stock of utility items including new W-DMX Dimmers, as well as Foggers. Our Generic Fixtures and Hazers have also undergone a service to keep them in top condition and ensure your event runs without a hitch. This is all on top of our recent investment in Avolites Quartz consoles to make us one of Somerset's top suppliers for stage lighting. Audio We continue to be the premier supplier in the South West for HK Audio's fantastic LTS system, and now also stock flying brackets for the system. LTS's unique waveguide means it is very suitable for long-throw flown applications, where the requirement for delay speakers can be significantly reduced. We have also further enhanced our microphone and mixer stock to cope with unprecedented hire demand over the summer period. Rigging We have added Global Truss's F34 PL range to stock, choosing the higher-spec F34 for its significantly increased weight readings compared to standard F34. Also stocked are various Base Plate options as well as Spacers for creating podiums. With various lengths available, as well as Chain Hoists and Steels, we are ideally equipped to provide your event with safe, high-quality trussing and rigging. Furthermore, we have added a stock of Black F31 PL to our inventory to create a fantastic modular system for uprights - Ideal for rigging Sunstrips, or in combination with a Boom Arm and ETC Source Four for compact Conference setups. 2019 has already proved to be a hugely exciting year for us at Revolution Audio. We have continued to see unprecedented growth in both our Production and Installation client base, and alongside further investment in the latest AV Equipment, we are also delighted to announce an expansion in our office staff. James Doney has joined us after a stint as AV Coordinator for Lee Abbey, and marks a return to Revolution Audio after several prior years as one of our top freelancers. James steps into the role of Senior Project Engineer and will be assisting with our larger productions, as well as coordinating the warehouse to ensure all our equipment continues to be kept in perfect working order. Regular customers will know we have been on the lookout for an ideal property for almost two years, and that with the huge growth we have experienced in the last 18 months, our shelves in Unit 8 had become full to bursting! However, following an intense search around the entirety of South Somerset, we have been incredibly fortunate with Unit 6, just two doors up from our current home on Memorial Road, becoming available at the exact time we needed it most. We've jumped at the chance and are now comfortably settled into our new home. With over 4x the storage space, and a large Office and Meeting Space that is almost the size of the entirety of Unit 8, our new home is a fantastic step forward to us, allowing us to continue increasing our stock of high-end AV equipment, and also giving us a fantastic new space to welcome clients into for meetings, sales demonstrations and training seminars. The Revolution Audio Team After debuting their album “Freedom’s Tree” to universal acclaim – as well as a Number One spot in the UK Christian Charts – Worship collective Southville are hitting the road to take their message of hope to Churches across the UK, with Revolution Audio in tow to provide production support.
Visiting Elim Churches of all sizes right across the country, Southville’s contemporary and engaging music style - with a heavy reliance on carefully balanced track, keyboard and sample levels - requires a consistent quality of sound from venue to venue, whilst also working to tight budgets and transport arrangements, and limited load in times given the nature of the venues. We are providing a package of Control, Microphones and Monitors as well as Engineering for this tour. Centred on an Allen and Heath Qu-16 and AR2412 Stage Rack, we are integrating into installed Front of House systems at venues to keep load in times short. Using the Qu-You app, Southville’s musicians can control their own IEM Mixes, whilst a constantly updated show file gives consistency from night to night. A selection of our top-draw microphones are also in use, with models from Sennheiser, Audix and Shure, including the top end KSM9 HS. Live Recordings are also being undertaken at each event, helping the team with both their own rehearsals, but also with Virtual Soundchecks at future shows. Avolites Titan One is also deployed to give simple control of any venue lighting rig. And for venues where limited in-house systems are available, full sound and lighting production will be provided from our large, industry-standard stock of loudspeakers and lighting equipment. Revolution Audio can trace its roots in the Worship sector right back to its formation as a company, and we are delighted to be partnering with Southville to bless and inspire Churches across the nation, whilst also showcasing our broad range of services for worship events of all sizes. When leading Somerset independent school Downside undertook a complete refurbishment of its Performing Arts facilities, they turned to Revolution Audio to help design bespoke systems that would create both a unique selling point for the school, but also a groundbreaking system that represents a standard of excellence for Music Technology in schools. Our Installation Team designed systems for four separate rooms - Two classroom installations with foreground music speakers and simple audio switching, a recording studio and a comprehensive Mac-based Music Technology suite. Music Classroom installations needed to be highly discrete, but also able to offer higher audio quality and sound pressure levels than smaller rooms around the site. FBT's J5A speakers proved a perfect solution; When specified in white with yoke mount brackets, they provide a punchy, detailed sound with a pleasing appearance. Switching was achieved by simple Kramer VS-55A Units, with Kramer HDMI Audio de-embedders also installed for use with the specified Apple TVs. The Recording Studio is a central showpiece for the new facilities, and despite being compact in size is equipped with a range of high-quality, industry stander equipment. Centrepiece in the Control Room is an Allen and Heath Qu-16 Console, which as well as acting as a Mixer also provides both a USB Interface and MIDI Control of Logic Pro X, including full motorised fader control. Also attached are Genelec 8030B Monitors, on isolation pads which form part of a fully matched studio furniture package. An Allen and Heath AR2412 Stage Box is deployed in the Live Room, alongside a series of Rack Drawers housing top quality microphones and DI Boxes from the likes of Sennheiser, Klark Technik and Rode. Finally, the Mac Suite provides both student and teachers with a tremendous facility that has already received interest from other schools for both its power and tremendous ease of use.
The brief to us was to provide a system where every student can attached both a guitar and keyboard to Logic for tracking, but also where a teacher can listen individually to the output of each system to show work to the whole class. This required a comprehensive mixing solution but one that was as easy to use for staff members as possible. Once again, we deployed the Allen and Heath Qu Series of Digital Mixers as our solution. The Qu-Control app allowed us to design a bespoke user-interface for the system, hiding the underlying processing. Each Mac has an Audio Interface with discrete Main and Headphone Outputs. The Main Outputs feed into a wall-mounted XLR point behind each system, which in turn run through an underfloor tunnel to a Qu-SB Mixer and AR84 Expander in a suspended rack beneath the teacher's table. This device - integrated into Downside's existing WiFi network - is controlled from an iPad in a custom Bouncepad stand secured to the table running Qu-Control. The teacher can simply select the Mac they want to listen to, with the software programmed to only let one system be live at a time. From there, it is as simple as touching the volume button, whereby an on-screen fader appears to set the level. Behind the scenes, each Mac has had gain matching applied, as well as a Limiter in the unlikely event any components are changed at the front end. The overall system also has Limiting and Master EQ to a pair of wall mounted FBJ J5 Speakers. All four rooms are already proving superb assets for the school. and the technology supplied and installed by Revolution Audio is allowing for a broader curriculum and richer experience for students, all in a package that gives staff a small learning curve and maximum control. The project has been another example of Revolution Audio's proven track record of engagement with clients throughout the entire process, bespoke and detailed system design and commitment to smooth handover.
