Bridgnorth revives its Carnival after two decades with Revolution Audio

Back after an absence of twenty years, the Shropshire town of Bridgnorth has revived its carnival in fantastic style. Floats moved through the packed streets of the town, before arriving in the open space of Severn Park to a live arena, family attractions and plenty of entertainment.

Revolution Audio provided the full concert specification sound system for the arena stage, with events kicking off at 12:30, and the task of mixing the various acts still going ten hours later! Once again our HK Audio Projector system was used for Front of House, amply filling the wide space when configured in its “long throw” configuration. Despite pushing substantial sound levels throughout the audience area, spare headroom was aplenty and the system provided superb detail, clarity and definition for the varied acts. From reggae to rock and everything in between, various acts and audience members came to comment on the superb sound quality of the system.

Two RCF Art 310 cabinets were also provided further back on the field, ensuring that announcements and performances were heard clearly over an extremely wide area, with time alignment and individual graphic equalization applied to the delay speakers.

Six monitor mixes were provided to the stage, using a combination of DB Technologies M10-2s, RCF Art 310s and QSC K10s. Each was chosen for a specific mix based on coverage and frequency response needs, and again each enjoyed full output processing with BSS Graphic EQs.

All of this was once again brought together by the flexible processing and great sound of our Soundcraft Si Compact 32 Digital Mixing Console. Connected via CAT 5 MADI to a Soundcraft/Studer Compact Stagebox, it amply handled the demands of the day’s performances. Microphones on stage included Shure, Audix, Audiotechnica and SE Electronics models, while two Sennheiser Wireless Systems running through directional “sharkfin” antennas provided rock solid reception throughout the day.

The event was another example of Revolution Audio’s ability to work closely with clients to ensure a solution ideal for them is provided. We understand that no two events are the same, and each deserves the absolute best in planning, equipment and implementation. During the event the efficiency of our crew and processes was also a key aspect; due to the tight schedule on the stage change over times were extremely tight, and the constant stage use throughout the day meant none of the acts had the luxury of full sound checks. Yet despite this, changeovers were smooth and sound consistently high-quality for every one of the acts.
