International Charity Kids Alive recently celebrated 100 years of work around the world in a glamorous ceremony in the UK, with full Lighting and Sound Production by Revolution Audio.
Tasked with transforming a standard 700 seat Auditorium into a memorable and attractive venue for band performances, speeches and a three-course meal, our creative team of designers and technicians worked closely with teams from Kids Alive as well as its UK Arm Hope For Kids to bring together an exceptional standard of production. Our Lighting Teams deployed a pair of Martin Mac 250 Entour moving head fixtures, each equipped with custom cut gobos of the Kids Alive logo, helping to bring the values of the event to the fore and creating an extremely high-end first impression. Further room lighting was achieved by six of Showtec's EventSpot 1900 Wireless LED Uplighters, controlled via Wireless DMX and providing a gentle bounce chase around the room. A key criteria was to eliminate the need for strip lights during the meal, in order to maintain a warm, intimate atmosphere. While not their natural habitat, four molefay blinders positioned on the main truss worked exceptionally well in this application, providing an even, soft and warm spread of light throughout the audience area. First impressions as guests entered the venue were also crucial, and to achieve this we deployed 40M of festoon lighting along the path from nearby car parks, and also uplit the outside of the venue using Showtec M800 LED Fixtures, set to Kids Alive's corporate colours. Once inside, further strip light usage was avoided by the deployment of dimmed Fresnel and Par Can fixtures inside the foyer area. On the Audio Front, we deployed a Midas M32 Stage Box to enhance the sound quality from the venue's in-house X32 Console and Nexo PS15 Front of House System. Touring Artist Joe Hardy provided live entertainment throughout the evening, with performances from his band expertly captured by a selection of Shure and Sennheiser microphones. Four-ways of Sennheiser G3 Wireless was deployed, as well as an AKG 747 Lectern Microphone. Also positioned on the Lectern was an Interspace MicroCue2 Clicker for rock-solid presentation control. The event was another shining example of Revolution Audio's proven track record of working closely with clients to develop solutions that exceed expectations time after time.
