Based around the iconic music of The Beatles, Like Dreamers Do is a modern re-write of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Written entirely by Kate Stevens, Performing Arts Technician at Sexey’s School, it delighted audiences for three nights in March, with audio services provided by Revolution Audio. Our reputation of providing flexible and high-quality solutions continued for this show, as we embraced the challenging technical specification and provided a seamless production experience. At the heart of it all was - as ever - our Soundcraft Si Compact 32 Digital Mixing Console, and HK Audio Projector Speakers System. With 29 inputs and 83 separate audio cues for each show, the flexibility and superb audio quality of the system really helped bring the performance alive. Lead and singing characters were captured with DPA 4066 headsets, using Sennhesier Wireless Beltpack Transmitters, while 4 AKG CK31 Microphones with HM1000 Hanging Modules were suspended from the truss to capture other performers. An on-stage band made use of four Sennheiser Handheld Microphones for vocals, while musicians in front of the stage were captured with various instrument microphones and DI Boxes. Once again showing our ability to incorporate creative and innovative solutions was also shown by our remote monitoring of all wireless microphone systems located on stage; A PC was located next to the Mixing Console, connected via two CAT5 Cables (one for redundancy) to ten Wireless Microphone Receivers, allowing not only clear monitoring of all the systems, but also rapid frequency co-ordination and management during set up. The show was considered a tremendous success, and we’re proud to have helped be part of such a great production. Staff, students and the audience have been full of praise for the show, and we would like to send a congratulations and thanks to all staff and students involved at the school for all their hard work.
