Revolution Audio was delighted to once again provide live sound services for another of The GateWay’s acoustic open mic nights. This most recent event was the biggest yet and incorporated large numbers of musicians playing every style of music imaginable, from jazz piano to a hurdy gurdy! This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the audio quality, compact size and flexibility of our “B Rig” Front Of House system. Utilising two QSC K10s as main speakers, we also added a single subwoofer from our larger HK Projector system to enhance reproduction of bass guitar, cajon and a simulated kick drum. As usual our Soundcraft Si Compact 32 with CAT5 Multicore provided superb mixing facilities and stunning quality Lexicon effects; indeed numerous members of the audience complimented on the quality of the sound along with the depth and creativity of the effects used. At the stage our DB Technologies M10-2 Plus monitors emerged fresh from their refurbishment to provide unobtrusive yet high quality monitoring for all the acts, while our expanded inventory of BSS AR-133 DI Boxes supplemented our usual Shure Beta 58As. We also utilised an Audix D6 for cajon and an Audix i5 on snare drum. In a major development from previous events, The GateWay also requested that a live recording be provided with the view to selling a CD of the evening. We provided a full 16 track live recording of the event taking individuals feeds from all microphones as well as two Audix ADX-51s to capture the ambience of the stage. Finally, to capture some room tone, we added two SE Electronics SE1As. The recording is in the post-production stages right now, and when finished will be available to purchase from The GateWay. We will also be posting samples on our Soundcloud page at www.soundcloud.com/revaudiouk.
