Revolution Audio was delighted to work in partnership with The Bridge Youth Centre to bring up-and-coming rap group Writeway to the town of Bridgnorth in Shropshire. The Bridge is a youth centre in Bridgnorth that aims to see young people become secure, successful, proactive and independent. As well as providing events for the youth of the town in its own venue, it is keen to host events for young people around the town with high-quality visiting bands and artists. Writeway travelled from London and began the day in front of a packed crowd at Oldbury Wells School, where they performed a lunchtime promotional show, highlighting the main event later that evening. At Revolution Audio we highlighted our ability to deliver high quality audio solutions even in demanding environments; due to a very short setup period, and limited space, a position for the mixing desk within the audience area was impractical. Therefore, we configured a wireless network and remotely controlled our Soundcraft Si Compact digital mixer from within the crowd, using an iPad! This allowed for the mixing desk to stay clear of the hall area, while still allowing great sound. For the main evening concert, our “A Rig” system of HK Projector amply filled the space, providing deep and punchy bass, clear mids and smooth high end. All the artists also commented on the excellent stage monitoring, provided by three DB Technologies M10-2s as wedges, with two QSC K10s as sidefills. Manager of The Bridge, John Prockter, said: “The Gig was the single most significant event we’ve run for young people so far, and it was practically perfect! Events like this are a simple first step in a long road of work with specific young people but it’s significant because it shows what we’re about. Getting the best band, the best tech and venue all add to communicating that the young people are worth the effort.” More information about The Bridge Youth Centre can be found at www.thebridgeyouthcentre.co.uk To find out more about our live event services, click here, or to contact us about your next event, get in touch with us here.

Revolution Audio has recently been back to Ditcheat, Somerset to provide live audio services for new monthly acoustic nights, hosted by singer-songwriter Aj Webber. The first event in December was a resounding success, and Revolution Audio is pleased to be the preferred supplier of audio services for the event moving forward. The ambition is for the event to become monthly, bringing together the best acoustic musicians from around the area to perform in a warm and intimate setting. January’s event brought together performances from Chico Holton, Filbey and Leeder and Aj herself. Once again we provided two QSC K10s as main speakers, and our Soundcraft Si Compact 32 with CAT5 snake for mixing. BSS DI Boxes along with Shure and Sennheiser microphones ensured great quality sound was captured from the stage, while the high quality preamps and superb Lexicon effects processors in the Si Compact ensured the audience enjoyed rich and full sound. The acts themselves were also full of praise for the sound, with blues singer and guitarist Chico Holton even writing to fellow musicians in the area, complimenting the “top-notch” audio provided at the event. The next event is being held at The Manor House Inn, Ditcheat on Thursday 7th February 2012. To find out more about our services for live events, click here. Revolution Audio was contracted to provide live audio and basic lighting services for the event as part of our partnership with Ministry Of Music. Revolution Audio’s HK Projector Front Of House system provided incredibly powerful low end, while also remaining clear and transparent throughout the intended coverage area. In a room with significant natural “slapback”, our HK Tilt Brackets were used to tilt the Mid/High Units down by 10° to focus more. energy on the audience area. All of this added up to a sound described as “incredible” by one of the event organisers. In a room with large numbers of exit doors, the use of our CAT5 Digital Multicore also impressed the organisers with how easily it could be routed to avoid obstructions and the speed with which it could be setup. As part of our new partnership with UK-wide event services provider Ministry Of Music, Revolution Audio was pleased to provide audio services to the Church Of The Good Shepherd in Woking as part of their new “Saturday Series” events. These monthly events aim at making their worship more accessible, and bring in guest bands and speakers. This month the Bean Baker Band provided excellent music and Revolution Audio was selected as the preferred supplier of PA. Using our full “A Rig” of HK Projector, we were able to provide a superbly even, warm and full sound throughout the entire intended coverage area, as well as minimising unwanted reflections through the use of our HK Tilt Brackets and tilting the Mid/High Units down by 10˚. Our Soundcraft Si Compact and associated CAT5 Digital Multicore provided an extremely flexible yet compact mixing solution, with high quality EQ, dynamics and effects helping bring the performance to life with tremendous clarity.
