Revolution Audio has built on its long-running partnership with The Red Brick Building, Glastonbury by recently providing audio services for “The Egg”, the latest band to perform at the fast growing venue.
Our track record in providing high quality, flexible solutions for events of all sizes has made us the preferred supplier for The Red Brick Building, and the recent addition to the building; Bocabar. With an ever-growing number of live music events now being hosted, quality sound is more important than ever, and Revolution Audio continues to deliver. Electronic Rock band “The Egg” recently performed in the newly opened events space, and we worked closely with the venue to provide high quality PA in what - logistically - is a challenging space. Despite a low ceiling and unusual layout, we still provided top-quality sound, that attracted comments from performers and organisers alike. HK Audio Projector - with its compact footprint and flexibility of coverage - was utilised for Front of House, and our Soundcraft Si Compact digital mixing console ensured tremendous mixing capability, but without taking up unnecessary space. Shure, Audix and Audiotechnica mics were used on stage, along with a substantial collection of BSS DI Boxes to capture the various electronic sounds. The band’s Front of House engineer - Shaun Hunter - paid tribute to the quality of the equipment provided, and the sound of the system as a whole, as well as the tremendous professionalism of the Revolution Audio team.

Revolution Audio was selected by New Light Promotions to provide full audio services for the exciting Yeovil-based music event “Loud and Alive”. Raising money for Cancer Research UK the event brought together some of the best rock music talent from the south west, featuring bands Maverick, Last One Out, Hundred Days and Apherium. Revolution Audio, a strongly established player in the area, once again equipped the central-Yeovil venue with HK Audio Projector for Front of House, DB Technologies M10s and QSC K10s for Monitors, and a Soundcraft Si Compact for Mixing. All of this, combined with Shure, Audix, Sennheiser and Audiotechnica microphones and BSS DI Boxes, created a full, rich and punchy sound that truly did justice to the music being performed. Artists were also full of praise for the system and engineering, with Plymouth-based Last One Out complimenting the high-quality monitor mixing and on-stage sound. At Revolution Audio were are proud to be be based in Yeovil, and from the very early days we have worked together with promoters to support the development of local music events in the town. The success of “Loud and Alive” has been a big development for the area, and we’re happy that our personal and professional service continues to make events like this possible. After experiencing significant growth, Yeovil Vineyard Church recently undertook a process to move its Sunday Services to a new home at The Park School, located in the centre of the Somerset town. As part of the first Sunday, an evening of worship - “The Return” - was organised - and Revolution Audio was selected to provide audio services.
Building on our strong background and experience in the church events market, we once again provided high-quality sound with an understanding and customer focussed attitude. Stacks of HK Projector were utilised, along with a Soundcraft digital mixing system with CAT5 Snake. On stage, a substantial selection of microphones and DI boxes were used, and six monitor mixes were provided. The event was a great success for the church, with excellent attendance and reports, with church leaders complimenting the “fantastic sound engineering” provided. As part of a drive to showcase the importance of live music, and to promote it for the future, bands and organisers in Yeovil recently came together to organise seven hours of live music, all in aid of supporting the local music industry. Revolution Audio was selected to provide sound for “The Resurrection”, and once again we utilised stacks of HK Audio Projector to amply fill the town centre venue. Our usual and comprehensive selection of microphones and DI boxes ensured great flexibility and sound quality for all the acts, ranging from acoustic to metal with everything in between. A challenging load-in and changeover schedule meant that efficient setup and production was a key aspect to the event’s success, and once again Revolution Audio delivered, with time-saving equipment and processes such as our CAT5 MADI Digital Snake system, as well as our highly professional team of stage crew and engineers. Indeed, every single one of the Revolution Audio team are musicians and have played in bands themselves, and this has given us unique knowledge thanks to working on both sides of the mixing desk, and has helped us work very closely and efficiently with artists and organisers alike. The sound quality of the system, as well as the effiency of production was commented on by many, as well as Jay Issacs; Front of House engineer for headline act The Tiny Face Experience. The event was a great success, highlighting the importance of the local music industry and the important role it plays, and we at Revolution Audio were delighted to have played our part. As part of the selection process for a new candidate in Yeovil, Somerset, the Yeovil Conservative Association turned to Revolution Audio to provide audio services for the “Open Primary” event, where any registered voter could attend and be part of the candidate selection process. Held at The GateWay venue in Yeovil, we utilized the existing installation of Nexo PS15s with LS1200 sub-bass units, as well as the installed Behringer X32 Digital Console. Four extra wireless systems were provided to allow for the smooth production of the event, both on the stage and around the room, with audience engagement a key part of the evening. A high-end DPA 4066 earset capsule was used, along with three handheld systems, all part of a Sennheiser EW300 G3 system. Directional antennas assured an unobtrusive, yet reliable and high performance system, and all receivers were monitored remotely from the mix position through the use of a Mac system, and Sennheiser’s Wireless Systems Manager software. The quality of sound and smoothness of the production was commented on by audience members and organisers alike, and serves as a testimony to Revolution Audio’s continued excellence in the delivery of high quality, customer focussed audio services. Back after an absence of twenty years, the Shropshire town of Bridgnorth has revived its carnival in fantastic style. Floats moved through the packed streets of the town, before arriving in the open space of Severn Park to a live arena, family attractions and plenty of entertainment. Revolution Audio provided the full concert specification sound system for the arena stage, with events kicking off at 12:30, and the task of mixing the various acts still going ten hours later! Once again our HK Audio Projector system was used for Front of House, amply filling the wide space when configured in its “long throw” configuration. Despite pushing substantial sound levels throughout the audience area, spare headroom was aplenty and the system provided superb detail, clarity and definition for the varied acts. From reggae to rock and everything in between, various acts and audience members came to comment on the superb sound quality of the system. Two RCF Art 310 cabinets were also provided further back on the field, ensuring that announcements and performances were heard clearly over an extremely wide area, with time alignment and individual graphic equalization applied to the delay speakers. Six monitor mixes were provided to the stage, using a combination of DB Technologies M10-2s, RCF Art 310s and QSC K10s. Each was chosen for a specific mix based on coverage and frequency response needs, and again each enjoyed full output processing with BSS Graphic EQs. All of this was once again brought together by the flexible processing and great sound of our Soundcraft Si Compact 32 Digital Mixing Console. Connected via CAT 5 MADI to a Soundcraft/Studer Compact Stagebox, it amply handled the demands of the day’s performances. Microphones on stage included Shure, Audix, Audiotechnica and SE Electronics models, while two Sennheiser Wireless Systems running through directional “sharkfin” antennas provided rock solid reception throughout the day. The event was another example of Revolution Audio’s ability to work closely with clients to ensure a solution ideal for them is provided. We understand that no two events are the same, and each deserves the absolute best in planning, equipment and implementation. During the event the efficiency of our crew and processes was also a key aspect; due to the tight schedule on the stage change over times were extremely tight, and the constant stage use throughout the day meant none of the acts had the luxury of full sound checks. Yet despite this, changeovers were smooth and sound consistently high-quality for every one of the acts. Ashley King from Bridgnorth Town Council said “The event has only received positive feedback and we are already looking forward to next year. We hope to work with Revolution Audio again in future years.” Youth work organisation Cambridge Youth For Christ recently organised a superb evening of live music for the youth of the area. Held in the village of Warboys, the village church rocked to the sound of Empire Nation, while Revolution Audio continued its well-established partnership with Ministry of Music, providing full live audio services to the event. Having traveled across the country with our full “A Rig” system of HK Audio Projector, the system amply filled the venue, and thanks to the clear coverage and processing offered in our Soundcraft Si Compact console, helped overcome the acoustical challenges of the church building. A selection of Audix, Shure and Audiotechnica microphones, along with BSS DI Boxes, captured clear sound on stage, with the Si Compact easily handling all sources, as well as five in-ear monitor mixes. The organisers commented on the superb punch and clarity of the system, with drums giving a clear, deep sound throughout the space, while vocals and guitars richly filled out the rest of the mix with clear intelligibility. Lexicon reverbs and delays were also used, adding further depth and richness to the sound. As part of a wider week of outreach activity, the event was considered a huge success, with a large and enthusiastic crowd. Both the organisers and Empire Nation were extremely happy with all aspects of the audio provided, and we continue to develop our partnership with Ministry of Music for the future. Bringing together sounds best described as “hooks like the Arctic Monkeys combined with the vocal dexterity of Plan B and the energy of the Specials”, the Revolution Audio “A Rig” was the system of choice, with the HK Audio Projector system amply filling the space with deep, punchy bass, crisp mids and clear highs. Six monitor feeds on stage amply satisfied the band’s requirements, while a large assortment of Audix, Shure and Audiotechnica microphones captured the action on stage. Written entirely by Kate Stevens, Performing Arts Technician at Sexey’s School, it delighted audiences for three nights in March, with audio services provided by Revolution Audio. Our reputation of providing flexible and high-quality solutions continued for this show, as we embraced the challenging technical specification and provided a seamless production experience. At the heart of it all was - as ever - our Soundcraft Si Compact 32 Digital Mixing Console, and HK Audio Projector Speakers System. With 29 inputs and 83 separate audio cues for each show, the flexibility and superb audio quality of the system really helped bring the performance alive. Lead and singing characters were captured with DPA 4066 headsets, using Sennhesier Wireless Beltpack Transmitters, while 4 AKG CK31 Microphones with HM1000 Hanging Modules were suspended from the truss to capture other performers. An on-stage band made use of four Sennheiser Handheld Microphones for vocals, while musicians in front of the stage were captured with various instrument microphones and DI Boxes. Once again showing our ability to incorporate creative and innovative solutions was also shown by our remote monitoring of all wireless microphone systems located on stage; A PC was located next to the Mixing Console, connected via two CAT5 Cables (one for redundancy) to ten Wireless Microphone Receivers, allowing not only clear monitoring of all the systems, but also rapid frequency co-ordination and management during set up. The show was considered a tremendous success, and we’re proud to have helped be part of such a great production.
